~MASTERCLASS TRAINING QUESTIONS~

CAN I APPLY TO BE A TRAINER AT THE FESTIVAL?

We book trainers that are highly skilled industry professionals who we either know, trust, or come highly recommended. From this we maintain a standard that we believe the festival should aim for. In saying that, if you believe you can enhance the festival and be part of the ethos we create please contact us

SHOULD WE CAMP OR GET ACCOMMODATION?

The festival is 'camping only'. It creates a community of people who are all there to experience the wonderful world of circus. It will be lots of fun, and you won't miss out on anything due to traveling back and forth. We strictly cannot allow people with 3 day passes to enter and exit the festival during the weekend, we need to be respectful to the festival sites neighbours by minimizing traffic movement. Like many other festivals, once you enter the site with your car and set up camp, you will not be able to move your car until pack up day.
A limited number of day tickets will also be made available if you do wish to only stay during the day.

.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR CAMPING?

Not a definitive list, but here's a start:
·       a tent
·       sleeping bag
·       camping mattress
·       a torch
·       warm clothes for sleeping (it gets cold at night)
·       warm weather gear (pack a rain coat! Tassie is famous for several changes in weather in one day)

Don't forget to bring the appropriate training equipment! If you need assistance with what to wear, or what to bring feel free to ask us

WHEN CAN I ARRIVE ON SITE?

Training participants may arrive on Saturday 13th January 2018 prior to the Training Program. Training program commences 7.30am on Sunday 14th January. Campers are asked to leave the site on Sunday 21st January 2018.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN TO THE TRAINING PROGRAM?

Yes, we will try and accommodate you and your child while training at the festival. Please keep in mind the festival training is aimed at adults, with a youth training component incorporated into it. If you are bringing children that are not participating in the workshop, please note that they will still need supervision from a Carer at all times. Please email us to let us know if you are bringing a non-participating child (and keep in mind they will need a ticket for the festival weekend).

WHAT WILL THE TRAINING BE LIKE?

5 days of circus workshops, Sunday 10th January to Thursday 14th January. Training will run from 7:30am - 5.00pm each day, and will be made up of workshops that are 1 - 2 hour in duration in a variety of circus specialties. See the training section of the website for more info on specialties on offer. Participants will be able to choose their specialties at the start of the festival. We plan to create nightly cabarets during training week, which trainers and participants are encouraged to perform in.

Expect to be occupied all day and into the night!

WILL FOOD BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?

Yes, you must purchase a prepaid food ticket for catered meals. The site for the entire Circus Festival Training and Public performances weekend is a licensed venue. You are also welcome to bring your own food if you would like to make some meals at the campsite.

NO BYO ALCOHOL.

Does my ticket include access to the festival?

Yes! It includes a 3 day festival pass.

What if I don’t want to attend the festival, I just want to do the masterclasses?

We want to encourage everyone to stay for the festival where possible, to complete the circus festival experience! See your circus trainers in action as they perform their own shows. We won’t be able to offer any discounts on training week tickets for anyone who can’t stay for the festival weekend.

Carer Tickets. Which one is best for me?

Option 1

For those of you who are coming along with a few youth/child, you can come under a Carers ticket which lets you supervise up to 5 youth or child ticket holders. This is especially useful for those of you coming with youth circus groups. You may also ‘join in’ masterclasses that you are supervising the youth at.

Option 2

Some parents or guardians are only coming along for the ride to support their youth/child develop their circus skills. Due to demand, we have created a second, cheaper option for those carers who are coming with only ONE youth/child. This is a non-participating ticket. So kick your feet up, make yourself at home and watch everyone else sweat it out in class.
