CAN I BUY THINGS WITH CARD?

The bar and most food vendors and market stalls accept cash ONLY however, some food vendors and market stalls MAY have EFTPOS machines. There is no ATM on site so make sure to bring cash! 

 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT OVER THE FESTIVAL WEEKEND? 

Performances will run consistently over the 3 days of the Festival starting at 12.00pm Friday 19th January and finishing at roughly 8.00pm Sunday 21st January. Circus workshops for the public will also be running on Saturday and Sunday so you can try your hand at some circus arts.

Performances will be a mixture of some of the best contemporary Circus Shows from around Australia, as well as variety shows featuring artists from across the globe, award winning street shows, roving performances, live music, aerial shows, and late night performances.


FOOD & WATER

There will be food and drink available for purchase on site. The site for the entire Circus Festival Training and Public
performances weekend is a licensed venue. There is access to drinking water onsite, however we would recommend you bring as much as you can with you. 

There is also a market place where a great range of food and drink can be purchased, along with a range of other stalls. We support local businesses as much as possible. 


You are also welcome to bring your own food and equipment if you would like to make some meals at the campsite.
NO BYO ALCOHOL 

 

AMENITIES

Toilet and (cold) shower facilities available.

 

FESTIVAL RULES

NO PETS (dogs or otherwise), NO DRUMMING, NO BYO ALCOHOL, NO DRUGS, NO CAMP FIRES, NO WEAPONSusinesses and select the tastiest of Tassie produce.

WHEN CAN I ARRIVE ON SITE? 

Festival goers who are camping with 3 day tickets can arrive FROM 12pm Friday 19th January 2018, arriving no later than 10pm, and are asked to leave the site no later than 9pm Sunday. 

Festival Day pass holders can arrive from 9:30am on the day of day pass and must leave after the last night show.


IS THIS FESTIVAL THE SAME AS THE TASMANIAN CIRCUS FESTIVAL HELD AT GOLCONDA?

No! However....
A few years ago The National Circus Festival which was held in Golconda, Tasmania over the past 25 years, came to an end.  A noticeable void has existed in the Tasmanian community and with that in mind, the new Tassie Circus Festival has been created. The Festival Team are all long term attendees, trainers, and/or performers of the Golconda Tassie Circus Festival and they bring that essence to the new Tassie Circus Festival at Swan Bay.

SHOULD WE CAMP OR GET ACCOMMODATION?

The festival is 'camping only'. It creates a community of people who are all there to experience the wonderful world of circus. It will be lots of fun, and you won't miss out on anything due to traveling back and forth. We strictly cannot allow people with 3 day passes to enter and exit the festival during the weekend, we need to be respectful to the festival sites neighbours by minimizing traffic movement. Like many other festivals, once you enter the site with your car and set up camp, you will not be able to move your car until pack up day. 


 

CAMPING

Can I bring a gas stove?

No open flames.
Please be aware that the festival must adhere to Tasmanian Fire Service regulations, and strict rules apply to cooking equipment on total fire ban days. (Visit Tasmanian Fire Service - Total Fire Ban for rules and regulations)

Can I bring my caravan/campervan?
Yes you sure can. But please, strictly NO GENERATORS. 
Your caravan/campervan must be self contained (grey water tanks, and waste tanks etc. A 'bucket on the ground outside' doesn't cut it). 

CAN I HAVE A MARKET STALL AT THE CIRCUS FESTIVAL? 

​During the Circus Festival there will be a number of food & beverage stalls and market stalls on site. We would prefer to support the many local businesses in the area.  If you are interested in having a stall at Tasmanian Circus Festival 2018, please contact us.
