Roll up, roll up!

Welcome to the Tasmanian Circus Festival 2018!

19th - 21st January, Swan Bay Tasmania

The Tasmanian Circus Festival is currently shaping up and kicks off on the 19th of January 2018!

Set in Swan Bay overlooking the iconic Tamar River just 20 minutes north of Launceston. The festival features top independent circus performers and physical theatre companies from around the world.

A family friendly festival with a diverse range of market stalls, music and performance. We have three performance venues, including a secret big top for the creatures of the night, hidden deep within the bush and natural amphitheater with a stunning view over the Tamar river.

The public festival weekend (19th-21st January 2018) is a family friendly, 3 day camping event. Performances include aerials, manipulation, dance, acrobatics, comedy and music. Showcasing some of the best independent contemporary circus performances and featuring circus artists from all corners of the globe, local and national talents. Performing for you, their renowned acts in variety shows and cabarets throughout the festival.

The training week masterclasses (14th-18th January 2018), features some of the leading contemporary circus industry trainers and performers teaching a broad range of circus skills to anyone with basic physical theatre experience. The 5 day long intensive masterclasses week aims to bring participants who are keen to broaden their circus skills, whilst camping together as one large circus community.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Campers may bring along one vehicle per ticket. Caravans and campervans are welcome. For more information please visit the FAQ page.

During training week and the festival there will be a great selection of food stalls, so no need to pack camp food! Although you are welcome to bring your own cooking equipment.

Site Rules

We want everyone to have the best possible time they can while at the festival. Here's a few of our simple site rules to keep everyone happy.

  • Zero waste! Take out what you bring in. Simple! Lets keep our earthly impact as minimal as possible on this beautiful Tassie spot.
  • No dogs (or pets). We love our furry friends, but their bark isn't so helpful for circus performers when upside down attempting a trick.
  • No BYO alcohol. Drinks will be available for purchase on site, at very reasonable prices.
  • No drums. Save that drumming for another day.
  • No open flames.

  • No weapons of any kind.

  • No videos and no flash photography

  • No illicit drugs

Directions

We are really lucky to be holding the festival in such a great location, and only a short distance from Launceston.
